SNAKES ON SOMETHING ELSE
Few people were surprised by the popularity of the New Line Cinema film, Snakes on a Plane, and few were surprised when several other movie studios tried to cash in on its success. Five separate movies were made soon after Snakes on a Plane appeared in theaters, each with a different actor, animal (one featured lemurs), and mode of transportation (in one instance, animals terrorized a small town on a Segway). All 5 movies signed a different major Hollywood actor.
Five friends (one was Jake) decided to take in a movie one hot summer afternoon, and each one opted to see the film starring their favorite actor. From the following clues, can you determine each child's favorite actor, what animals that actor saved innocent people from, what mode of transportation those animals used, and where the movies ranked in gross profit (1st being the highest profit and 5th being the lowest)?
- Because of copyright infringement, no director could put snakes on an airplane in his or her film.
- Paul Reubens, who is Wendy's favorite actor, refused to work with snakes, citing his character Pee Wee's fear of snakes (as demonstrated in Pee Wee's Big Adventure).
- The 5 films were the one Roger saw, the film that featured Chuck Norris on an airplane, the movie that made the lowest gross profit (which starred Woody Allen), the one starring Charlton Heston, and the one that made the highest gross profit.
- Ferrets in a Hot Air Balloon turned out to be just as silly as the critics had predicted, but it still grossed more money than the film Edith watched (which didn't star Charlton Heston).
- The movie Deborah saw grossed more than the one starring Steven Seagal, which made more than the film about a terrifying hippo attack. None of these films were set on a train.
- "I've had it with these seabass!" one actor exclaimed, much to Edith's delight.
- The movie that used an economy car as the mode of transportation ranked 4th in gross profit. It didn't star Steven Seagal.
- The 2 boys were the one who saw the movie about animals in an economy car (these animals weren't snakes) and the one who saw the 3rd highest grossing film.
